W.I.P on Horse Walk Cycle

Doing a quadruped walk is difficult to some degree, and I think it's good to get into. I've done several bipedal walk cycles, but I feel like challenging myself with a 4-legged creature. I went online to Creative Crash, (I had an account in which I logged into- for those of you who haven't been on this site before, it's free to create an account). The site provides you with various 3D models for different software platforms, as well as rigs, shaders etc. The thing is, not all of them are free- so you'll have to do a little researching on the site.

I went on and researched for free rigs I could use to expand my comfortability on using different models each time I wanted to animate something so I don't become a deer in the headlights when I'm given a completely different character with different controls, and how much restraints it might have, which could affect how far I could push my animation.

So I went on, and got this wonderful 3D horse model (Rhett the Clydesdale 1.2.5), modeled by Tim Mayo and rigged by Christopher Carson (my apologies for not being able to find Tim or Christopher's link so you can get more info on them):

After doing some research, I did a first (blocking and did some splining) pass and this is what my animation looks like:

I'm not completely happy with it, but I think it's a great start, and I just need to do some more adjusting in poses, timing and spacing and I should feel more confident in it.

Making the Best of 2012!

Sorry everyone for the very long absence of barely any blog posts in 2011. There has been a lot of things that has been happening in my life lately, and I just felt either speechless or helpless to be able to do anything. On the high note, I'm looking forward to taking charge this 2012 to make it the best that I can. I will be an avid writer-animator-learner whatever it is I have in my head that I'm going to be executing this year- it will be done. No questions asked, and I can't make excuses for myself.

I also have like about 6 months in wedding planning before I marry the man of my dreams (Addam), this upcoming June!!! Hopefully all the reality TV shows with women preparing for their big day won't inspire me to be one myself...
